Blueberries in Hokkaido!
It's just a 90 minutes drive from Sapporo.
You'll be in Niki town, a town with over 30 orchards.
This is THE blueberry town! -at least for me.. They Do grow other fruits such as apples, cherries, pears, plums and tomatoes.
But Blueberries in NIKI is so good that it'a the town of bluberries for me and my family.
Every summer I Drive along the coast of the Japan Sea
and come here at least three times to pick / eat blueberries.
For the past 22 years, I have never missed a chance to come here for its blueberries.
This year hasn't bee a great year for the fruits, with little rain and fewer sunny days.
But finaly, here they are!

Yes, this is the first day of this season.
Some fruits are stll not ripen , ~very hard and green
The bluberry season will probably last for three weeks.
In this particular farm alone, there are 1,400 various blueberry trees, some tall, some short: and some small butsweet , some big but sour
If you are in Hokkaido in August, please try to visit one of the farms in Niki Town.
At Shito Farm, with a 30 year history of blueberry growing, you can eat as much as you want for just 500 yen.
